However, it does hold that bag in place. My only negative thought is that the inner ring is difficult to work with in taking bags off or on. I love this garbage can. It's fun to use and actually fairly quiet, unlike some other reviews.
We stand over the garbage waiting for it to open LOL. This is the second can I will have. I highly recommend this product and hope this one lasts as long as the first. When we go to other peoples homes it is the same thing you really get used to it. The first one lasted over five years and we absolutely loved it. Finally the little piece that helps it to open broke and we miss this can so much.
This one just seems a little slower to respond that the other one. I love the trash can, just comparing it to the off brand, it is a little slower. We had one of these before. We have to move our hand a few times over the sensor to get it to open. Not the same brand but very similar. Well actually, identical but no brand on it.
it also means you have to wait for it to open.* occasionally the motor gets into a state where it only opens partway* after a few months of use, the motor no longer works at all. I normally don't write Amazon reviews but I hate this thing so much so I just can't hold myself back. We're getting a new trash can this weekend. the trash can opens about a quarter of an inchI don't even want to attempt to fix this thing. We got it about six months ago. It seemed fine at first but then I started realizing how terrible it is.* it can get moldy easily since food going in may touch the sides of the top part of the trash can as its going in - this can be pretty common if you're cleaning scraps off a wide cutting board.* you need to hold your hand over the sensor to get it to open - which means that the trash can may get gross when your hands are wet and you try to throw something away.
